Dunkin’ Coffee & Espresso Menu
Coffee is what Dunkin’ actually sells. Donuts get the name on the sign, but roughly 60 percent of revenue comes out of the coffee urns and espresso machines. That balance matters for the Canadian rollout, because it puts Dunkin’ head to head with Tim Hortons on the one product Canadians buy every morning without thinking about it.
This page covers the hot side of the menu: brewed coffee, Americanos, lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos and straight espresso. Iced drinks have their own page.
Dunkin’ Cup Sizes
Dunkin’ uses four sizes for hot drinks, and they do not match the sizing at Tim Hortons or Starbucks. A Dunkin’ medium is 14 oz, which sits between a Tim Hortons medium at 14 oz and a Starbucks grande at 16 oz.
| Size | Hot Volume | Iced Volume | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small | 10 oz | 16 oz | Single espresso base |
| Medium | 14 oz | 24 oz | Standard order, double shot on lattes |
| Large | 20 oz | 32 oz | Double shot, most common commuter size |
| Extra Large | 24 oz | — | Hot brewed coffee only |
Hot Brewed Coffee
Original Blend is the default. Dark Roast is a heavier, lower-acid pour that Dunkin’ introduced to compete on the espresso-drinker end of the market. Decaf is available in every size at the same price.

Espresso Drinks
Dunkin’ rebuilt its espresso line in 2018 with a new bean and new machines, and it is the part of the menu that has grown fastest since. Signature Lattes are the premium tier: same espresso base, but finished with flavoured syrup, whipped cream and a topping.

Flavour Shots vs Flavour Swirls
This is the single most useful thing to know before ordering at Dunkin’, and it trips up almost everyone new to the chain.
Flavour shots are unsweetened, sugar-free and calorie-free. They add aroma and flavour without changing the sweetness. Free on most drinks.
Flavour swirls are sweetened condensed-milk syrups. They add roughly 50 to 150 calories depending on size and pump count, and they usually carry a small upcharge. A drink ordered with a swirl does not need added sugar.
| Type | Sugar | Calories Added (Med) | Upcharge | Options |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Flavour Shot | None | 0 | Free | Vanilla, Hazelnut, Toasted Almond, Coconut, Blueberry, Raspberry |
| Flavour Swirl | Yes | 50–150 | $0.50–$0.80 | Caramel, French Vanilla, Mocha, Cookie Butter, Butter Pecan |

How to Order Coffee at Dunkin’
Dunkin’ order shorthand runs in a fixed sequence: size, temperature, drink, then modifications. “Medium iced latte, oat milk, one caramel swirl” lands cleanly. Leading with the modifications does not.
“Regular” at Dunkin’ means cream and sugar already added, not black. If you want it black, say black. This differs from Tim Hortons, where “regular” means one cream one sugar, and it is a common source of wrong orders.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the strongest coffee at Dunkin’?
A large Original Blend or Dark Roast at roughly 300 mg of caffeine is the strongest standard drink. Cold brew in a large runs about 260 mg, and a large latte sits near 225 mg.
Is Dunkin’ coffee stronger than Tim Hortons?
Yes, noticeably. A medium Dunkin’ Original Blend carries about 210 mg of caffeine against roughly 140 mg in a medium Tim Hortons original. Dunkin’ brews at a higher coffee-to-water ratio.
Are flavour shots free at Dunkin’?
Flavour shots are unsweetened and generally free. Flavour swirls are sweetened and typically carry an upcharge of 50 to 80 cents.
What is Dunkin’s most popular hot coffee?
A medium Original Blend with cream and sugar. It has been the top seller for decades and is expected to anchor the Canadian menu.
Will Dunkin’ coffee prices in Canada match the US?
Almost certainly not. Canadian quick-service pricing usually runs above a straight conversion once local costs and taxes are added. Treat the CAD figures here as a floor rather than a forecast.
